Vice President Kashim Shettima, speaking in New York during the 80th UN General Assembly, assured Nigerians in the diaspora of the Tinubu administration’s commitment to transformative policies under the Renewed Hope Agenda.
Addressing the Nigerian community, Shettima, through his spokesperson Stanley Nkwocha, emphasized Nigeria’s progress and urged continued faith in the country’s trajectory.
Shettima praised the diaspora’s resilience and potential to drive Nigeria’s development, stating, “Each of you has value to add. Your experience is invaluable, and Nigeria is on the right path to reclaim its place among nations.”
He highlighted milestones like foreign reserves exceeding $40 billion, increased subnational revenues, and significant infrastructural investments, alongside support for youth through initiatives like NELFUND.
Abike Dabiri-Erewa, NiDCOM Chairman/CEO, showcased Nigerians excelling abroad and noted improved services, including easier passport access and functional non-resident BVN systems.
She emphasized Nigeria’s growing investment appeal in sectors like mining, health, AI, fintech, and agriculture.
Diaspora members, including Amazon AI Engineer Adebimpe Daniels and Healthcare Specialist Saratu Garba, expressed enthusiasm for investing in Nigeria and commended the government’s efforts to enhance business conditions.
Shettima promised a future visit to the U.S. for deeper engagement, urging Nigerians to take pride in their heritage and contribute to the nation’s rise.
