Former presidential candidate Peter Obi has categorically debunked viral social media claims suggesting he met with US President Donald Trump and Musiliu Akinsanya, popularly known as MC Oluomo.
Obi dismissed the doctored images and fabricated stories as deliberate attempts to mislead the public, reaffirming his commitment to transparency in his political engagements.
In a statement posted on X, Obi condemned the spread of disinformation, clarifying that no such meetings occurred. “One image falsely depicts me with President Trump, accompanied by a claim that he praised me.
"Another shows me with MC Oluomo in his office. Both are fake and doctored, and the stories are entirely false,” he said.
Obi emphasized that he has not recently met Trump nor held any meeting with MC Oluomo, urging Nigerians and the global community to verify information before sharing to combat propaganda.
Obi reiterated that his political focus remains on addressing Nigeria’s pressing challenges, including insecurity, poverty, education, and healthcare.
“My politics is not about seeking praise or cheap publicity,” he stated. “It is about confronting Nigeria’s real problems with solutions grounded in integrity, accountability, and transparency.”
He added that any legitimate meetings would be publicly disclosed on his X handle, underscoring his commitment to openness.
