Veteran Nollywood actor Chiwetalu Agu has quashed rumors of his demise, taking to Instagram on Friday to reassure fans and family of his robust health in a spirited video message.
The comic legend, famed for his witty proverbs and memorable roles, debunked a false report spread by a blogger claiming he had passed away, sparking widespread panic among his admirers.
In a caption accompanying the video, Agu wrote, “Fans and family, please disregard any rumors about my death, and kindly report the page of the blogger who started spreading them. I am very much alive by God’s grace.”
Speaking with his trademark vigor, he declared, “Chief Chiwetalu Agu, okenmiri n’ezoru Oha 1 of Etiti Amokwe, Enugu State, is not going to die anytime soon. Instead, I will be the one to bury my enemies. Na who dig pit go fall inside. Na who dig grave go fall inside.”
The actor, expressing disbelief at the gullibility of some in “this 21st century, 2025,” emphasized his plans to live long enough to “carry my grandchildren in good health.”
He also noted that he would have pursued legal action had the false report come from a major blogger, urging fans to dismiss and rebuke those spreading “diabolical news.”
The erroneous claim, which originated from an unverified online source, caused a wave of concern among Agu’s global fanbase.
His swift and fiery response has since restored calm, reaffirming the beloved star’s enduring presence in Nollywood and beyond.
