The Nigerian Navy has announced the start of its Basic Training School (BTS) Batch 38 recruitment exercise, set to take place from October 2 to October 31, 2025.
Applications are free and must be submitted online via https://www.joinnigeriannavy.navy.mil.ng. Successful candidates will undergo basic military training before enlistment as Ordinary Seamen.
Eligibility is limited to Nigerian citizens by birth with a valid National Identification Number (NIN), no criminal record, and no affiliations with secret societies, cults, or fraternities.
Applicants with O’level results must be aged 18-22 by December 31, 2025, while those with OND/NCE qualifications must be 18-26.
Chaplain/Imam Assistants and Drivers/Mechanics must be 18-28. All candidates require at least five credits, including English Language and Mathematics, from WAEC, NECO, GCE, or NABTEB, obtained in no more than two sittings with certificates not older than 2015.
Specialized roles, such as Medical Assistants and Nurses, require registration with relevant professional bodies.
Technical trade applicants (e.g., tailoring, plumbing, carpentry, welding, electrical works) must provide valid Trade Test certificates alongside academic qualifications.
Sportsmen and women must submit certificates and medals proving their achievements.
The recruitment examination is scheduled for November 29, 2025, at designated centers nationwide.
Candidates must bring a signed Attestation Form with the signer’s passport photograph and valid identification (Driver’s License, International Passport, or National ID Card).
Multiple applications will result in disqualification, and candidates are advised to use only official communication channels on the recruitment portal for clarification.
