The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has introduced a fully cashless payment system across all major airports, effective yesterday.
Dubbed #OperationGoCashless, the initiative replaces cash transactions at access gates, parking lots, and service points with tap-and-go cards and digital wallets.
The move aims to enhance convenience, eliminate revenue leakages, and align Nigeria’s aviation sector with global standards of transparency and efficiency.
Passengers can easily acquire GoCashless Cards at airport gates or FAAN commercial offices, with quick registration and support available through the FAAN helpline (0700-CBS-FAAN) or gocashless.faan.gov.ng.
This bold step positions Nigeria among leading economies with seamless, contactless transactions, marking a significant leap toward a transparent, digital economy. The future of travel in Nigeria is now cashless, starting at its airports.
