The National Examinations Council (NECO) has revealed that 38 schools across 13 states engaged in widespread cheating during the 2025 Internal Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE).
Announcing the 2025 SSCE results, NECO Registrar and CEO, Professor Dantani Ibrahim Wushishi, stated that nine supervisors face blacklisting due to poor supervision, aiding and abetting cheating, lateness, unruly behavior, assault, and insubordination.
The implicated schools have been summoned for discussions, with appropriate sanctions to follow. Wushishi described the 2025 SSCE as highly successful, with results released 54 days after the final exam.
He noted that 60.26% of candidates secured five credits or more, including Mathematics and English, while 84.26% achieved five credits or more, regardless of Mathematics and English.
