The attack, which occurred around 10:00 PM, also claimed the life of a civilian driver and resulted in the abduction of one Chinese expatriate.

“Eight of our members were killed by the kidnappers. A detailed statement will be released from our headquarters in Abuja later today,” the officer confirmed on Saturday.

BUA Group issued a statement on Sunday, expressing grief over the attack. “We are deeply saddened by the tragic loss of eight NSCDC operatives and a civilian driver near our Okpella facility,” the statement read.

The company pledged full cooperation with security agencies to secure the safe return of the abducted individual and bring the culprits to justice, emphasizing, “The safety of our people, partners, and host communities is paramount.
