Kano police arrest two for ‘robbery, attempted murder’ of Lil Kesh in Lagos

The Kano state police command has arrested two suspects in connection with the robbery and attempted murder of Nigerian rapper Lil Kesh in Lagos.

The incident occurred last month when the assailants attacked the artiste, also known as Keshinro Ololade, in an attempt to steal his jewelry.

During the struggle, Lil Kesh was stabbed in the neck and part of his ear. Graphic photos of his injuries later circulated online, prompting concern among his fans.

The rapper was rushed to a hospital where he received treatment and had his wounds stitched.

A few days after the attack, Lil Kesh shared a positive update, describing the incident as a “curveball” from life that he managed to escape.

The 30-year-old expressed gratitude for his safety and the outpouring of support from fans.

In a recent statement, police confirmed the arrest of the two suspects identified as Mathew Adewole and Mukhtar Muhammad in Na’ibawa Quarters, Kano.

The statement disclosed that a sum of N2.12 million, reportedly stolen during the attack, was recovered.

It added that the suspects have been handed over to the Lagos police command for prosecution.

“Kano State Police Command nabs 2 suspects in Na’ibawa Quarters Kano, Mathew Adewole & Mukhtar Muhammad, in connection with armed robbery & attempted murder of Lil-Kesh at Bera Estate, Chevron, Lagos,” the statement reads.

“Stolen N2.12m recovered & suspects handed over to Lagos Police for prosecution, #Justice Served.”

Lil Kesh, who rose to fame at 19 with his 2014 hit ‘Shoki,’ recently revealed that his early success denied him crucial life experiences and opportunities for personal development.
