Fuji musician Saheed Osupa has appreciated Burna Boy after
the Grammy winner named him among his greatest of all time (GOAT) singers.
During a recent link-up with Swiss tennis star Roger
Federer, the ‘Ye’ hitmaker revealed that Osupa is one of his favourite
artistes.
The pair debated their best and worst things ever. The
conversation also covered a wide range of topics, including family traditions,
cars, albums, food, childhood crushes, footballers, watches, and artistes, as
well as their worst purchases.
When asked about his GOAT superhero, Burna Boy picked Black
Panther, saying he has always loved superheroes and often drew comic characters
as a child.
He revealed that his stage name was inspired by his desire
to be a comic book character.
“Definitely, Black Panther is my GOAT superhero. I like
superheroes. I used to draw them when I was younger, like comic drawings, and
that’s how I got the name Burna Boy because I wanted to be a character in a
comic book. My superpower would be fire flame,” he said.
He further revealed that his best singers are the Fuji
artistes while noting Saheed Osupa as his favourite.
“My GOAT singers are mostly Fuji artistes like Saheed
Osupa,” he added.
Osupa took to social media to express gratitude to Burna Boy
for the “powerful acknowledgement”.
He stated that the honour not only uplifts his own journey
but also shines a light on Nigeria’s rich cultural heritage, bridging
generations and genres.
The 55-year-old singer, who revealed he is a great fan of
the ‘African Giant’ hitmaker, added that he looks forward to attending one of
Burna Boy’s concerts to appreciate his “God-given talents”.

on a global stage, is a monumental moment that celebrates the soul of Fuji
music and its timeless influence,” he wrote on X.
