Gov. Radda Approves N372 Million Bursary for 24,452 Katsina Students

Governor Dikko Umaru Radda of Katsina State has approved the disbursement of over N372 million in bursary allowances to 24,452 continuing students in tertiary institutions across the country and abroad.

The announcement was made by the Katsina State Scholarship Board through its Executive Secretary, Dr. Aminu Salisu-Tsauri, in a statement released in Katsina on Tuesday.

This latest initiative shows the Radda administration's ongoing commitment to student welfare since taking office, positioning education as a cornerstone for peace, prosperity, and sustainable growth in the state.

Dr. Salisu-Tsauri highlighted that the approval reflects the governor's "unwavering passion for human capital development," noting that the funds will alleviate financial burdens for students pursuing higher education.

"Since the inception of this administration, the government has consistently demonstrated exceptional commitment to students' welfare, with bursary disbursements forming a key pillar of our educational strategy," he stated.

The board is actively preparing for a seamless and timely payout, ensuring that beneficiaries receive their allowances without delay.

This effort builds on previous disbursements under Governor Radda's leadership, including over N744 million in late 2024 for fresh and continuing students, and N640 million in 2023 for nearly 48,000 students—demonstrating a pattern of substantial investment totaling billions of naira in student support over the past two years.

Beyond domestic aid, the administration has elevated Katsina's educational footprint internationally by sponsoring state students in specialized fields abroad, providing them with global exposure and skills to contribute to the state's development upon graduation.

Governor Radda has repeatedly emphasized inclusive education as a priority, with initiatives like this aimed at reducing dropout rates and empowering youth amid economic challenges.
