The All Progressives Congress (APC), Nigeria's ruling party, has named Ayoola Olajolo as its new Director of Administration at the National Secretariat.
The appointment, announced on Friday by APC National Publicity Secretary Felix Morka, underscores the party's commitment to injecting fresh expertise into its administrative framework.
Olajolo, a distinguished legal practitioner and public administrator hailing from Ile-Ife in Osun State, brings over two decades of invaluable experience to the role, blending grassroots political acumen with high-level bureaucratic prowess.
Called to the Nigerian Bar in 2016, Olajolo's career trajectory is a testament to his dedication to public service.
He cut his teeth in local governance as Secretary of Ife Central Local Government Area from 1999 to 2003, before ascending to the position of Chairman.
His subsequent stint at the National Space Research and Development Agency saw him rise to Assistant Chief Legal Officer, where he navigated intricate administrative and legal landscapes, sharpening his skills in policy implementation and resource management.
In his new capacity, Olajolo will spearhead the day-to-day operations of the APC's National Secretariat.
Responsibilities include rolling out innovative systems to streamline workflows, overseeing human resources, and ensuring the flawless execution of the party's nationwide programs and initiatives.
This comes at a pivotal time for the APC, as it gears up for internal reforms and electoral strategies in the lead-up to future polls.
Morka, in a congratulatory statement, praised Olajolo's multifaceted background, noting, “Mr Olajolo brings his experience in local government administration and diverse public policy perspectives to his new role as Director of Administration.”
The party expressed optimism about his contributions, adding, “He will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day administrative functioning of the national secretariat, implementing innovative and efficient operational systems, managing human resources, and ensuring the seamless execution of the party’s programmes and activities.”
“The party congratulates Mr. Olajolo on his appointment and wishes him every success in his new role,” the statement concluded.
