The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has called on President Bola Tinubu to prioritize addressing Nigeria's internal security challenges before seeking a permanent seat on the United Nations Security Council.
In a statement issued on September 29, 2025, the ADC emphasized that resolving issues like banditry, terrorism, and kidnapping should take precedence over international ambitions.
The party argued that a stable and secure Nigeria would strengthen the country's case for a UNSC seat, highlighting the need for effective governance and security reforms at home.
The ADC urged the administration to focus on protecting citizens and fostering national stability to enhance Nigeria's global credibility.
