Davido, the Afrobeats star, says his highly anticipated white wedding with his wife Chioma Rowland has cost over $3.7 million.
During a recent conversation with friends ahead of their
star-studded ceremony in Miami, USA, Davido shared details about the lavish
preparations.
Joking about the hefty budget, the singer stated that the
celebration should be nothing short of extraordinary, given the amount spent.
“We have spent $3.7 million in cash. So we should know what we are doing. We are going crazy,” he said.
The ‘Assurance’ hitmaker earlier disclosed that the white
wedding ceremony will be held in August.
Earlier this week, Davido and Chioma arrived in Florida via
a private jet adorned with welcome flowers and a chair labeled ‘MRS’. The
singer also dropped hints about the wedding’s Miami location.
Among the high-profile guests confirmed to attend is Osun
governor Ademola Adeleke, who traveled to the US for the event. Other attendees
include Davido’s cousin Adebayo ‘B-Red’ Adeleke, singer Adekunle Gold, and
social media personality Tunde Ednut.
Davido proposed to Chioma in 2019, but their relationship
faced challenges in 2021 amid allegations that the singer was involved in
another relationship.
The couple lost Ifeanyi, their first child together, on
October 30, 2022.
However, in March 2023, the singer disclosed that he and
Chioma had officially married.
The couple welcomed twins in the US in October 2023. They
held their traditional wedding in June 2024.
Davido had claimed that Chioma’s wedding ring was worth the
price of “two or three Rolls-Royce motor cars”.
