President Bola Ahmed Tinubu welcomed Anambra State Governor, Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo, to the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, for a closed-door meeting focused on advancing Anambra’s development and addressing national issues.
The meeting, which took place at 2:00 PM WAT, highlights the ongoing collaboration between the federal government and state leaders to tackle economic and security challenges.
While details of the discussion were not disclosed, sources close to the Presidency indicated that the talks centered on Anambra’s infrastructure projects, economic policies, and strategies to enhance security in the Southeast region.
Governor Soludo, a renowned economist and former Central Bank of Nigeria governor, is believed to have presented updates on his administration’s efforts to transform Anambra into a hub for innovation and investment, including the state’s “Solution Agenda” for sustainable development.
A statement from the Presidency described the meeting as productive, with President Tinubu reiterating his commitment to supporting state governments in delivering good governance.
“The President is focused on fostering synergy with governors to drive progress across Nigeria,” the statement read.
Soludo, speaking briefly to reporters after the meeting, expressed optimism about federal backing for Anambra’s initiatives, though he provided no specifics.
