Bashir El-Rufai, son of former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, says for Nigeria to be great again, a few certain people have to die.
Bashir made the remark in his recent post on X, formerly
Twitter.
He wrote, “Nigeria can become great again. Unfortunately or
fortunately (depending on context) a few certain people have to kpai to achieve
this dream.”
The post, however, did not go down well as some Nigerians
stormed the comment section to remind Bashir that his father may be one of
those that need to die for the country to become great again.
@Undiluted_Ola said, “Your dad is leading in this one and
definitely first that needs to make way for the new generation.”
@legendchild2019 wrote, “Your father must be among those
that will kpai.”
Bashir’s father was among opposition leaders aligning
against President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 elections.
There are speculations that El-Rufai may deputize former
governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi, if he secures the presidential ticket of
the African Democratic Congress, ADC, recently adopted by opposition figures.
