President Bola Tinubu departed Yokohama, Japan, on Thursday night, August 21, 2025, after attending the 8th Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD).
He is en route to Brazil for a state visit scheduled to begin on August 24, 2025. The Nigerian leader will make a brief stopover in Los Angeles, California, USA, for refueling and logistical purposes before continuing to BrasÃlia, the Brazilian capital.
In BrasÃlia, President Tinubu is expected to engage in high-level diplomatic activities, including bilateral talks with Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva to strengthen Nigeria-Brazil relations, focusing on trade, investment, agriculture, and energy cooperation.
The visit aims to foster economic partnerships and explore opportunities for collaboration in areas such as renewable energy and infrastructure development.
