Big Brother Naija Season 7 winner, Josephina Otabor, popularly known as Phyna, and actress Kate Henshaw, have cried out for justice after a Dangote truck allegedly ran over Phyna’s younger sister in Auchi, Edo State, leaving her critically injured and with one leg amputated.
The tragic incident occurred just six days after the
victim’s graduation. According to eyewitnesses, the truck driver failed to stop
after the collision but was pursued and apprehended by a lecturer who saw the
accident unfold.
Phyna, in an emotional Instagram post, accused the police of
prioritising the truck owner’s influence over her sister’s welfare.
“From all that has happened, you decided to rather tell the
Nigerian police to remove the plate number on the truck that crushed my sister…
Na money you get, you no be God. But my God is bigger. Enough is enough,” she
wrote.
Henshaw also took to social media, revealing that the
truck’s license plate had been removed despite being in police custody. She
alleged that officers in Auchi were refusing the family and concerned students
access to the vehicle.
“This truck in police custody in Auchi has hit a young girl
who just graduated 6 days ago. One leg amputated already and the other one may
soon be amputated. Whoever owns the truck should own up. Justice must be
served,” Henshaw stated.
As of press time, the victim remains in critical condition
at a hospital, while calls for justice continue to mount, with Nigerians urging
the police to take decisive action against those responsible.
