PDP Youths Rejects Taraba Bye-Election Results, Allege APC Fraud

The PDP Youth Forum in Karim 1 Constituency, Taraba State, has denounced the results of the August 16, 2025, bye-election, branding the All Progressives Congress (APC) victory as fraudulent.

Speaking in Jalingo on August 27, 2025, the group’s chairman, Obed Titus Loh, called the outcome “a stain on Nigeria’s democracy,” accusing the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and security agencies of colluding with APC operatives to rig the vote.

Loh highlighted alleged irregularities, including voter intimidation, vote buying, and result tampering in Bikwin Ward, Karim A, Bandawa in Karim B Ward, and Jen-Petel in Jen Ardido Ward.

He claimed PDP agents were attacked and expelled from collation centres, enabling manipulation in favor of the APC.

The group also contested the cancellation of results from 10 polling units, which disenfranchised over 3,000 voters, arguing that the narrow 400-vote margin of victory should have led to an inconclusive election.

“Despite overwhelming PDP support at polling units, votes were suppressed and altered at collation centres,” Loh stated.

The forum demanded a thorough INEC investigation into the election across all five wards, the nullification of manipulated results, and the reinstatement of original polling unit outcomes.

They also called on INEC, the judiciary, and civil society to uphold electoral integrity. While committing to peaceful action, the PDP youths vowed to pursue the “stolen mandate” of Karim 1 Constituency relentlessly.
