Ademola Lookman, Super Eagles of Nigeria winger, has deleted posts related to Atalanta, his Italian club, on his Instagram page.
The development follows the club’s rejection of Inter
Milan’s latest offer to sign the 27-year-old.
On Friday, Atalanta rejected €42 million plus €3 million
add-ons from Inter Milan for Lookman.
The Bergamo club insist on its asking price of €60 million
for Lookman despite the player and Nerrazuri reportedly agreeing on personal
terms.
Reacting to Atalanta’s decision, Lookman unfollowed the club
on Instagram and deleted the team’s name from his bio.
Lookman also removed posts and pictures of himself in the
team’s jersey on the social media page — including his profile picture.
Meanwhile, Lookman was left out of Atalanta’s squad for
their pre-season game against RB Leipzig in Germany on Saturday.
According to local reports, the player suffered a calf
injury and will be out of action for a couple of weeks.
Lookman joined Atalanta from RB Leipzig in 2022 for € 10.8m
and has scored 52 goals in 118 games for the Bergamo-based club.
He famously scored a hat-trick in the final of the 2023/24
Europa League, helping Atalanta win its first-ever European title.
Lookman is the reigning CAF African Footballer of the Year,
succeeding Victor Osimhen, who won the award in 2023.
