The All Progressives Congress (APC) has won the
Chikun/Kajuru federal constituency by-election in Kaduna state.
Felix Bagudu of the APC polled 34,580 votes to defeat Esther
Ashivelli Dawaki of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who got 11,491 votes.
The results were announced on Sunday by Abubakar Mohammed
Jumare, returning officer of the Independent National Electoral Commission
(INEC) for the election.
STATE ASSEMBLY BY-ELECTIONS
The APC also won the Kaduna house of assembly by-elections
in Zaria Kewaye and Basawa constituencies.
To win the Basawa constituency seat, Dahiru Umar-Sani polled
10,996 votes to defeat Muazu Danyaro of the PDP, who scored 5,499 votes.
Danbala Usman of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) came
third with 811 votes, while Mahmuda Almustapha of the African Democratic
Congress (ADC) secured 146.
In Zaria Kewaye constituency, Isa Mohammed of the APC was
declared winner after polling 26,613 votes.
Mohammed defeated Nuhu Muazu of the SDP, who scored 5,721,
and Mahmud Wappa of the PDP, who got 5,331.
