The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has mandated that Nigerian public universities finalize their 2025 admission processes by October 31, 2025.
Private universities have until November 30, 2025, while all other tertiary institutions, both public and private, must conclude admissions by December 31, 2025.
The directive, outlined in JAMB’s weekly bulletin on August 18, 2025, stems from decisions made during the 2025 Policy Meeting chaired by the Minister of Education.
JAMB stated that the timeline aims to stabilize the academic calendar and ensure equitable access to admission slots across all tertiary institutions.
The board encouraged institutions to complete admissions early, even if their academic sessions start later, and to archive completed admissions to prevent delays.
Additionally, JAMB directed institutions conducting post-UTME screenings to finalize them promptly to meet the 2025 admission deadlines.
