Former lawmaker Senator Shehu Sani has suggested that the State Governors were not doing enough to ameliorate the sufferings of poor Nigerians amid the biting hardship in the country.
The former lawmaker claimed that President Bola Tinubu was
being attacked and criticized for the sufferings of the people while governors
were smiling to the banks.
Sani’s commentary comes amid widespread anger at
skyrocketing fuel prices and economic hardship following the removal of the
petroleum subsidy.
According to him, while citizens continue to suffer from the
steep surge in living costs, Tinubu is bearing the brunt of public criticism,
and governors appear to be largely unaccountable and passive in response to
citizens’ distress.
Sani’s scathing post on
X: “The Subsidy was removed.
The People are bearing the brunt. The President is receiving
the bashing. The Governors are receiving the alerts.”
