Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, has enjoined members of All Progressives Congress, APC, in Oyo State not to engage in any form of fight with their counterparts in the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
Adelabu who spoke on Friday, enjoined APC members to speak
with their votes during the forthcoming bye-election in Ibadan North Federal
Constituency.
The minister spoke during the flag-off of the campaign of
the APC candidate, Adewale Olatunji.
The event which was held at Bodija International Market, was
attended by Akeem Adeyemi, Chief Wasiu Ajimobi, former Chairman of Oluyole
local government area, Ayodeji Abass-Aleshinloye, Akin Alabi and the APC
chairman in the state, Alhaji Olayide Abas.
The bye-election will take place on
Saturday, 16th August, 2025.
The election follows the death of the last occupant of the
seat, Hon. Musliudeen Olaide Akinremi, who died last year.
Adelabu noted that the election is not just about the APC
candidate but also about President Bola Tinubu and the Yoruba race.
Adelabu while addressing the gathering explained that APC
owns the local government area and the state at large.
He described the election as strategic and important.
Adelabu said, “This election is not just about Murphy, it is
about Tinubu and the Yoruba. Let us all vote for continuity of the good work
late Akinremi has done, let’s vote for the APC candidate to uphold Akinremi’s
unprecedented strides.
“APC owns Ibadan North, APC owns Oyo State and Nigeria at
large. Don’t fight PDP, speak with your votes.”
