Ahmed Wadada quits SDP one week after meeting with Tinubu

Ahmed Wadada, senator representing Nasarawa west, has resigned his membership of the Social Democratic Party (SDP).

His resignation was conveyed in a letter addressed to the chairman of the party in Tudun Kofa ward, Keffi LGA of Nasarawa.

“I am writing to inform you of my decision to resign as a member of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), effective immediately,” the letter reads.

“This decision has not been taken lightly, but I feel compelled to do so due to the lingering internal crisis that has plagued our party for some time.

“As you are aware, these internal conflicts have led to serious divisions and litigations within the party.

“I appreciate the opportunities given to me while being a member of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), and I am grateful for the experiences and relationships built.

“However, I feel it is time for me to move on and explore new avenues.”

The Nasarawa lawmaker, however, did not disclose which political platform he will join.

Speaking with State House correspondents on August 13 after a meeting with President Bola Tinubu at the presidential villa, Wadada had said no presidential hopeful on the African Democratic Congress (ADC) coalition platform can match Tinubu’s performance in office.
