Former Nigerian Head of State, General Abdulsalami Abubakar, has paid tribute to ex-President Muhammadu Buhari, he described him as a trustworthy and loyal friend.
Reacting to the news of Buhari’s death on Channels Television, Abdulsalami said,
“You can trust him with anything and he won’t betray you.”
The former leader highlighted Buhari’s reputation for discipline, personal honesty, and steadfast commitment to Nigeria. He noted that even during difficult times, Buhari’s integrity remained intact, earning him deep respect from allies and political rivals alike.
Abdulsalami’s remarks echo sentiments across Nigeria, where tributes and criticisms have continued to pour in for the late president, who served as military ruler from 1983 to 1985 before returning as a democratically elected leader in 2015.
