A horrific tragedy struck Trans Ekulu, Enugu State, as Chidinma Arinze allegedly mu^dered her two children, four-year-old Esther Arinze and three-month-old Chibusoma Arinze, on Monday, July 21, 2025.
The gruesome incident occurred at the suspect’s residence at No. 47 Unity Road and was discovered by neighbors who alerted authorities.
Security analyst Zagazola Makama reported that police sources described the case as one of the most disturbing domestic incidents in recent times.According to police, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Trans Ekulu received a distress call around 9:00 a.m. Officers promptly arrived at the scene, where they found the lifeless bodies of the two children.
Both victims bore marks of violence, suspected to have been inflicted with a sharp object.
The Enugu State Police have taken Chidinma Arinze into custody, and investigations are ongoing to determine the motive behind the alleged crime.
The incident has left the community in shock, with authorities urging calm as they work to uncover the circumstances surrounding this heartbreaking event
