Nigerian singer, Reekado Banks has revealed that his colleague, Wizkid, regretted insulting him for announcing song release amid EndSARS protests in October 2020.
Recall that Reekado Banks and Wizkid fell out after the
latter blasted the former for announcing the release of the collaborative song,
‘Omo Olomo’ amid the EndSARS movement.
Wizkid’s response shocked many as he called Reekado Banks a
“fool” and “clout animal.”
Revisiting their public fallout in a recent interview on The
Esther Show, Reekado Banks explained that it was his management who insisted on
releasing the song at that time despite his initial opposition it.
He stated that Wizkid visited him recently and they
reconciled, stressing that the Starboy boss “was a little grateful about it.”
He said Wizkid admitted that his response was a bit edgy.
Banks said, “Recently he [Wizkid] came visiting my
restaurant. We had a little talk and he was a little regretful about it. He was
like he shouldn’t have gone that route. He mentioned his behaviour towards Don
Jazzy as well.
“He was like we are three people in the game [music
industry] who recently lost our moms. And he feels sorry about that time, so,
we are good now.”
