A tragic accident occurred on the Abeokuta-Sagamu Motorway in Ogun State, resulting in the death of a police inspector, Afolabi Adeola.
The incident happened on Sunday, June 29, around 12:30 p.m. near the Judiciary Complex checkpoint in Abeokuta. A truck loaded with 900 bags of cement allegedly approached the checkpoint at high speed, rammed into another truck that had stopped at the checkpoint, and then hit Inspector Adeola.
The impact injured Inspector Adeola, who was on official duty at the checkpoint. He was rushed to a hospital in Lagos, where he died on Monday, June 30, shortly after undergoing an X-ray.
Officers from the traffic unit visited the scene, documented the crash, and recovered both vehicles for further investigation.
