The Emir, who also bore the traditional title of Sarkin Katsinan Gusau, died on Friday morning in Abuja at the age of 71.

In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Mr Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu paid glowing tribute to the late monarch, praising his lifelong service and dedication to leadership.

“This is a collective loss that goes beyond Zamfara State,” President Tinubu said, noting that Dr Bello would be remembered for “his sense of duty, commitment to his people, and exemplary leadership.”

The President extended heartfelt condolences to the government and people of Zamfara State as well as the family of the late traditional ruler.

He offered prayers for the repose of the Emir’s soul, asking for Allah’s mercy and eternal peace.

Dr Ibrahim Bello, until his death, was widely respected for his calm leadership and consistent engagement in community development efforts.

His reign in Gusau was marked by a focus on peace-building, education, and social harmony.
