Tinubu in closed-door meeting with, Edun, Bagudu, Ekpo, CBN gov, FIRS boss

President Bola Tinubu is currently holding a closed-door meeting at the Presidential Villa in Abuja with key economic officials.

They include: Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun; Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Senator Atiku Bagudu; Minister of State for Petroleum (Gas), Ekperikpe Ekpo; Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor, Olayemi Cardoso; and Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) Executive Chairman, Zacch Adedeji.

According to a presidency source, the meeting is a routine engagement where ministers and heads of critical agencies brief the President on their respective operations.

The officials arrived separately for the discussions, which are expected to cover significant economic matters.

A key focus of the meeting is the implementation of the four tax bills recently signed into law by President Tinubu, set to take effect in January 2026.

The FIRS chairman is expected to update the President on strategies to ensure the effective rollout of these laws.

Additionally, the CBN Governor is likely to discuss the country’s fiscal and monetary policies, while the Ministers of Finance and Budget and Economic Planning are expected to provide insights on broader economic issues facing the nation.

Though the full agenda remains undisclosed, the meeting underscores the administration’s commitment to addressing Nigeria’s economic challenges amid ongoing reforms.
