The Federal Government has unveiled plans to revitalize the struggling Kaduna Textile industry to bolster Nigeria’s economy.
George Akume, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, during a two-day government-citizen engagement session in Kaduna on Tuesday.
Leading a delegation of President Bola Tinubu’s northern appointees, Akume emphasized Tinubu’s commitment to holistic national development.
“Tinubu is doing a lot in about eight different areas to ensure that Nigeria experiences holistic development in all spheres of endeavors,” he said.
“The Tinubu administration intends to industrialize the country through diversification. We are looking at those days of Kaduna Textile and many other industrialized areas in the north.”
Akume highlighted the goal to restore the prominence of Kaduna Textile, stating, “We intend to revisit those good old days of the Kaduna Textile to further boost and solidify the economy of the country via industrialization.”
He added that the Tinubu administration, now two years and two months into its term, has already achieved significant milestones and aims to accomplish more through such initiatives.
