Heavy security measures have been put in place at the Daura residence of late former President Muhammadu Buhari in preparation for his burial rites.
The security personnel deployed to the area include:
- Army: Providing additional security support to ensure a smooth and safe burial process.
- Police: Assisting in maintaining law and order around the residence and surrounding areas.
- Department of State Services (DSS): Playing a key role in securing the high-profile burial event.
As of 8 am, security operatives had already barricaded the entrance to the area, restricting access to authorized personnel and mourners. The grave-digging process has begun, and a portion of the late leader's residence has been marked for his interment .
The security measures are part of the preparations for the burial, which is expected to take place within 24 to 48 hours of Buhari's passing, in accordance with Islamic rites.
The body of the late President is expected to arrive in Daura from London, and prayers will be held at the Daura Central Mosque before his burial at his private residence.
