Former Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Solomon Dalung, has defended the leadership of the African Democratic Party (ADC), stating that individuals of high integrity were selected to head the coalition.
During an interview on Channels TV, Dalung, who served under former President Muhammadu Buhari, praised the current ADC Chairman for his clean record and credibility.
In defence, he said: “There is no video clip showing the ADC Chairman David Mark stuffing dollars into his pocket,” Dalung further, drew a contrast with other political party leaders who have faced corruption allegations.
Addressing claims that the ADC was hijacked, particularly from the party’s 2023 presidential candidate Dumebi Kachikwu, Dalung dismissed the allegations. He maintained that the leadership transition was legitimate and transparent.
“The coalition didn’t hijack the ADC,” Dalung asserted. “Ralph Nwosu, the former ADC chairman, formally handed over to David Mark and Rauf Aregbesola as the interim National Chair and Secretary, respectively.”
