Former Super Eagles striker Odion Ighalo has advised Victor Osimhen to consider a move to the Saudi Pro League, highlighting its financial benefits.
Osimhen’s future at Napoli remains uncertain after the club reportedly turned down a €75 million bid from Galatasaray, where the Nigerian forward excelled on loan, scoring 37 goals in 41 matches.
In an interview with Echo Room, Ighalo encouraged Osimhen to prioritize earnings by joining the Saudi League for a couple of years before returning to Europe.
“My advice to Victor Osimhen is to go to Saudi Arabia for two years to make money. Then he can come back to Europe,” Ighalo said.
Drawing from his own career, Ighalo noted his stint in the Chinese Super League before returning to Europe at 30 to play for Manchester United.
“Victor Osimhen is 26. In two years, he’ll be 28. He can still play in Europe for another five years if he wants,” he added.
Ighalo’s advice aligns with the increasing trend of top players opting for lucrative Saudi contracts before resuming their careers in Europe.
