The Plateau State Police Command is set to arraign 22 suspects before the state High Court on July 10, 2025, in connection with a mob attack that occurred on June 21, 2025, in Mangun community, Mangu Local Government Area.
Recall, a group of 31 wedding guests traveling from Basawa community in Zaria, Kaduna State, to Qua'an Pan LGA of Plateau State, was attacked by a mob in Mangun village after reportedly stopping to ask for directions. The attack resulted in the d3aths of 13 people, including women and children.
The police command's spokesperson, DSP Alfred Alabo, confirmed that the 22 suspects will be arraigned before the state High Court. The police had earlier confirmed the arrest of the suspects and deployed personnel to intensify investigations and apprehend more suspects.
The Plateau State Police Command, led by Commissioner of Police Emmanuel Olugbemiga Adesina, has been working to ensure justice is served in this case. The suspects' arraignment marks a significant step in the investigation and prosecution of those responsible for the mob attack.
