As the 2027 general election looms, activist and lawyer Deji Adeyanju has made a striking claim: no Southern presidential candidate can defeat President Tinubu except former President Goodluck Jonathan.
In a post on his X handle, Adeyanju suggested that a Jonathan/Rabiu Kwankwaso ticket or a younger Northern candidate paired with Peter Obi would be the opposition’s strongest bet to unseat Tinubu.
He dismissed Atiku Abubakar’s chances, arguing that Atiku lacks the appeal to energize younger voters, risking their support. Adeyanju’s prediction has ignited heated online debates, with opinions sharply divided over his proposed strategy.
