Nigeria's Super Eagles Slip to 44th in FIFA World Ranking

Nigeria's Super Eagles have dropped one spot in the latest FIFA world ranking, falling from 43rd to 44th place.

Despite strong performances in recent matches, including winning the 2025 Unity Cup in London and a 1-1 draw against Russia, the team couldn't improve their global ranking.

Morocco tops the African rankings at 12th globally. Senegal and Egypt follow, Senegal is ranked 18th globally, while Egypt is 34th.

The Super Eagles are now ranked fifth in Africa. Rwanda, Nigeria's opponents in the upcoming World Cup qualifiers, have moved up to 127th.

South Africa, who will face Nigeria on matchday 8, remains 56th.

Argentina, Spain, France, England, and Brazil occupy the top five spots.

Croatia has moved up one place to enter the top 10, while Italy has dropped to 11th. FIFA will release the next edition of the men's world ranking on September 18, 2025.
