Air Peace says it will suspend flight operations for 12 hours on Saturday in Lagos due to the local government (LG) elections.
In a statement posted on X on Thursday, the airline said
inbound and outbound flights will be suspended from 3:00 am to 3:00 pm.
“We wish to inform our esteemed customers and the general
public that there will be no scheduled flight operations into and out of Lagos
on Saturday, July 12, 2025, from 3:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m,” the statement reads.
“This is due to the Lagos Local Government Elections and the movement restrictions across all roads and waterways in Lagos State, as announced by the Lagos State Police Command.
“Regular flight operations to and from Lagos will resume at
4:00 p.m. on the same day, in line with our scheduled services.
“We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this may cause
our valued passengers whose travel plans are affected.”
On Wednesday, Olohundare Jimoh, the commissioner of police
in Lagos, ordered heavy deployment of personnel across the state ahead of the
LG elections scheduled for July 12.
