A 34-year-old Nigerian woman, Yenna Christina Idowu, has been detained by the Versova police in Mumbai, India, on suspicion of possessing cocaine valued at over N254 million (approximately Rs 1.42 crore). The police discovered 418 grams of cocaine in 30 capsules during a search of her bag.
Idowu was arrested on June 30, 2025, after police observed her acting suspiciously in Old MHADA, Andheri West, at 3 AM. The police are investigating to determine who Idowu was supposed to deliver the drugs to and where she obtained them.
She revealed during questioning that she was a resident of Ondo, Nigeria, who was now residing in Noida.
A formal complaint has been filed against Idowu under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
Idowu is being held by the police, and further legal action is being taken.
