Former Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to ex-President Muhammadu Buhari, Garba Shehu, has vowed never to return to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.
Shehu disclosed that he remains loyal to Buhari even after
leaving office.
He disclosed this in an interview with TVC News programme:
Beyond The Headlines, on Thursday.
The former presidential spokesman said: “Let me tell you, if
you have integrity and I’m not pretending that I have, people should judge for
themselves.
“I think a man should serve only one master at a time. You
can’t serve two masters at the same time, otherwise, you are deceiving yourself
or them.
“I’m currently with Muhammadu Buhari, however, if you are
looking to make an example of me with some of the characters you just
mentioned, I’m not in that mode.
“When I speak for Buhari these days, I do so out of
commitment for a leader who gave me his absolute trust and I feel that he needs
my support, otherwise, I would have done like others did, walk away and start
something else.
“But I’m happy that I’m still on his side and he is not as
active politically as you had before, certainly not as president.
“Even the statements we make on his behalf, you can see that
they are very occasional and specific as we don’t want to meddle in issues,
otherwise, people will think that there are two presidents in a country.
“The only president at the moment is President Bola Tinubu
and Buhari will not be contesting the space with him.”
