Atiku’s Aide Slams Keyamo, Urges Him to Focus on Aviation Duties

Paul Ibe, spokesperson for former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, has criticized Aviation Minister Festus Keyamo, labeling his recent remarks against Atiku as sycophantic.

Speaking on Channels Television’s The 'Morning Brief' on Thursday, July 17, 2025, Ibe dismissed Keyamo’s claim that Atiku was impersonating by using the Nigerian Coat of Arms in his correspondences, stating,

“Nobody is impersonating anybody.

"Atiku Abubakar is a former vice president. That is known. I don’t want to dignify him (Keyamo).”

Ibe further accused Keyamo of “playing to the gallery” and urged him to focus on his ministerial responsibilities rather than engaging in political disputes.

The controversy follows reports on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, suggesting Atiku had left the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the African Democratic Alliance (ADC) to challenge President Bola Tinubu’s All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 elections.

Ibe’s comments reflect ongoing tensions between Atiku’s camp and Keyamo, who criticized the timing of Atiku’s rumored defection.
