The Adamawa State Government has confirmed the hacking of Governor Ahmadu Fintiri’s X account.
The governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Mr Humwashi Wonosikou
who made the confirmation, advised the general public to disregard any posts or
messages emanating from the corrupted X (formerly Twitter) account of the governor.
“Unfortunately, the account has been compromised by hackers,
and any content posted from it does not represent the views or statements of
the Governor or his representatives,” Wonosikou said in a public notice which
he issued.
“We are working diligently to recover the account and
restore its integrity. The Governor regrets any embarrassment or inconvenience
caused by the actions of the hackers,” Wonosikou stated.
He asked the public to be aware that any official statements
or announcements from the Governor’s office will be made through verified and
official channels.
