5.5 Magnitude Earthquake Hits Southeast Spain


A 5.5 magnitude earthquake struck a popular holiday destination in Spain, with tremors felt across the southeast coast. 


The quake occurred at 7:13 am, according to the National Geographic Institute.The earthquake had a depth of 2 kilometers.


The epicenter was located just a few kilometers off the Spanish mainland and 70 km from the city of Almeria.


Tremors were reported in over 50 towns, including Alicante, Malaga, Granada, Jaen, Murcia, and Albacete.


People in the affected areas received alerts on their phones, informing them of the situation.Tourists and locals described the quake as "strong" and "surprisingly long," with some reporting that their hotel rooms or homes shook.


So far, there have been no reports of injury or damage.The earthquake was felt in various parts of southeast Spain, but no major incidents have been reported.
