Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Sir Ahmadu Bello Memorial Foundation, Muazu Babangida Aliyu, on Thursday if Nigerians tolerated former President Muhammadu Buhari for eight years, they can try President Bola Tinubu till 2031.
Aliyu stated this on Thursday in an interview with Arise
Television, reflecting on Nigeria’s political history and the need for patience
with the current leadership.
Speaking on the prospects of the African Democratic
Congress, ADC, removing the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, and
President Tinubu, the former Niger State governor challenged opposition groups
to present viable alternatives to Nigerians.
On the country’s informal political rotation system, Aliyu
noted the sensitivity around power sharing, warning that internal party
defections could disrupt the political landscape further.
“You cannot be bad and expect to have your child as an
angel. Your child looks at you and the way you behave,” he said, reflecting on
leadership behaviour.
