2027 Coalition: Atiku, Secondus, Other PDP Leaders Meet in Abuja


Prominent figures from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), including former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and ex-Senate President David Mark, have gathered for a closed-door meeting in Abuja. 


The strategic gathering, held at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel,  is part of ongoing consultations ahead of the formal unveiling of a coalition platform to challenge President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general elections.


The meeting includes several PDP stalwarts, such as former governors, senators, and national party leaders,former PDP National Chairman, Prince Uche Secondus, ex-Governors Aminu Tambuwal (Sokoto), Liyel Imoke (Cross River), Babangida Aliyu (Niger), and Sam Egwu (Ebonyi). 


The meeting is focused on determining whether PDP leaders will fully integrate into the proposed coalition party or maintain their positions within the PDP while forming an electoral alliance.


Recall the coalition has reportedly chosen the African Democratic Congress as its political platform, with Senator Mark set to serve as interim chairman. An official unveiling of the coalition is scheduled for Wednesday, July 02.
