Woli Arole Weighs in on Surrogacy Discourse

Comedian and actor Woli Arole has criticised women who opt for surrogacy despite being physically capable of carrying a pregnancy.

Labeling such choices as influenced by misguided modern ideologies, Arole on Instagram, argued that bearing a child is a sacred blessing and part of God’s intended design for women.

He urged women to resist these contemporary pressures and embrace their natural role in childbirth.

Arole made an exception for cases where medical necessity, such as infertility or health complications, justifies the use of surrogacy or IVF.

However, he firmly opposed surrogacy as a personal preference, rejecting the idea that women can simply choose not to carry a child.

He challenged the notion of bodily autonomy, asserting that a woman’s body is a sacred vessel meant to fulfill a divine purpose, not subject to individual whims.

He said: “Listen carefully. It is a blessing for a Woman to carry her baby in her womb. That’s how God wants it. Don’t let weakness derail you. Unless for medical reasons, she can adopt options like Surrogacy, IVF and all. You can’t say my body, my decision. I don’t feel like carrying a child. I want surrogacy.

No!! Your body is God’s Temple!!.

“Don’t let wokeness derail you. Your body is God’s temple. Surrogacy is not something you just choose!! There’s a reason God gave you a Womb”.

Woli Arole had previously advocated for women’s voices to be heard in marriage, emphasising that submission doesn’t mean silence.

He noted that a wife is a helpmate, and her opinions should be valued.
