Former PDP Deputy National Chairman, Bode George has condemned FCT Minister Nyesom Wike's recent remarks, describing them as a "disgusting abomination." Wike had responded to George's statement that the PDP "made" him, saying that individuals, not parties, make themselves popular.
George believes Wike's comments are ungrateful and shortsighted, given the PDP's role in supporting Wike's political career.
The PDD chieftain emphasized that parties, not individuals, provide the platform for political success.
George stated that he doesn't have the authority to expel Wike from the PDP, citing the party's rules and regulations.
"Our party is not like APC, owned by an individual. Our party was established with rules and regulations. There's no individual who owns this party (PDP)," he said
Wike had argued that individuals, not parties, make themselves popular and win elections.
George disputed this, highlighting Wike's rise to prominence within the PDP and the party's support for his career, including when he was the governor of Rivers state.
He urged Wike to reflect on the transient nature of life and power, quoting William Shakespeare's Macbeth, "Life's but a walking shadow, a poor player, that struts and frets his hour upon the stage, and then is heard no more."
He emphasized his focus is on PDP's future and strengthening the party, rather than engaging in personal disputes
