Veteran Nigerian actor, Ganiu Nofiu, popularly known as Alapini Oosa, has expressed disappointment over the lack of recognition and compensation for his efforts in supporting President Bola Tinubu during the 2023 general election.
Alapini claimed that he and over a hundred others actively campaigned for Tinubu, reaching remote areas to drum up support.
Despite their efforts, Alapini stated in a video that neither he nor his colleagues have received any form of recognition or reward.
“We thought our messiah had come,” the actor said, adding that many individuals campaigned vigorously in support of Tinubu’s candidacy, demonstrating their belief in him. Alapini specifically mentioned fellow actor Olaiya Igwe, who gained attention in 2022 for his bold displays of support at a beach where he was stark n@ked, yet, according to Alapini, he has not received any compensation for his efforts.
“How many hospitals has Seyi Tinubu visited in Yorubaland?” Alapini asked, expressing the frustrations of supporters who feel overlooked after actively participating during the campaign period.
The veteran actor ended with a sharp comment about future political involvement, stating, “Maybe what people will get for the 2027 re-election campaign is curses.”
