Tensions between Iran and Israel reached a terrifying new height on Monday after an Israeli airstrike hit the Iranian state television studio during a live broadcast, forcing the presenter to flee mid-air.
Footage widely circulated online shows the moment a massive explosion shattered
the set while the anchor was delivering an on-air criticism of Israel.
The broadcast abruptly ended as dust filled the studio and the screen behind
her collapsed. The station quickly switched to prerecorded programming.
Just an hour before the bombing, Israeli authorities had issued a warning to evacuate parts of central Tehran, an area housing the national police headquarters, state broadcasting offices, and major hospitals.
Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant described the attack as part of efforts to silence Iran’s “propaganda mouthpiece.” Earlier that same day, Iran had launched another round of missile strikes into Israel, reportedly killing at least eight people.
The incident marks the fourth day of escalating conflict between the two nations, raising fears of a broader regional war.
