Nigerian activist, Harrison Gwamnishu held a solo protest at the Delta State Government House in Asaba on Wednesday, June 04, to draw attention to the growing insecurity in the state.
In a video of the protest, Gwamnishu was seen demonstrating towards security officials who barred him from accessing the governor's residence. He expressed deep concern over the state's insecurity, citing the neglect of local security networks.
Gwamnishu, urged the government to prioritize funding for local vigilante groups, stating, "This is not just a protest—it is a call to action for the safety and protection of all Deltans." He resigned from his position as Senior Special Assistant to the Governor to stand with the people.
Gwamnishu is calling on the public to lend their voice to the cause, using the hashtags #FundLocalVigilante and #UnawareProtest.
